Rockwood Housing Commission has proudly served the City of Rockwood and surrounding community since 1968. Established under Michigan law by a vote of the Rockwood City Council, our Housing Commission was created to provide safe, quality, and affordable housing opportunities for individuals and families in need. Today, we remain committed to enhancing the quality of life for our residents by offering well-maintained housing, responsive management, and dependable resident services.

Our mission is to provide safe, decent, and sanitary housing for qualifying low-income households while managing our resources responsibly and efficiently. We are dedicated to creating housing opportunities that promote stability, independence, and a stronger future for the residents we serve.

Our Housing Communities

Rockwood Housing Commission proudly manages two affordable housing communities that serve the diverse needs of our residents:

Irving Brewer Apartments – Affordable apartments for seniors and eligible individuals with disabilities.
Janet Dallwig Family Housing – Affordable housing designed for qualifying families seeking a safe and welcoming community.

Leadership & Governance

Rockwood Housing Commission is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the Mayor to staggered five-year terms. The Board provides oversight and guidance while the Executive Director and staff manage the day-to-day operations, ensuring our communities are maintained with professionalism, integrity, and respect for every resident.
